USA Pro Challenge celebration, including free ice cream and a movie, set for Friday in Vail

VAIL — Once again, the Vail Time Trial will descend upon Vail Village, offering the most unique, and often game-changing, stage of the USA Pro Challenge on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. in Solaris Plaza.

To celebrate the return of “America’s Race,” the Vail Valley Foundation and town of Vail will host a kick-off celebration today starting at 6 p.m.

The free festivities will include an ice cream apres and kids activities at 6 p.m., followed by a free movie, “American Flyers,” shown on the lawn at Mountain Plaza, near Gondola One, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Following the kick-off event today, the Stage 6 Vail Time Trial will take place in Vail on Saturday, with racers kicking off at 1:05 p.m. in Solaris Plaza and festivities in Vail Village all day.
