Journey Into Nature snowshoe excursions now offered in Avon

Walking Mountains Science Center instructors will take Westin Riverfront guests on 2- to 5-hour guided snowshoes in Colorado’s White River National Forest this month.

AVON — The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa in Avon is partnering with Walking Mountains Science Center to offer guests exclusive access to Journey Into Nature guided snowshoe excursions during the month of March.

About The Excursions

Walking Mountains Science Center instructors will take Westin Riverfront guests on 2- to 5-hour guided snowshoe trips in Colorado’s White River National Forest. Both beginner experiences (recommended for ages 14 and older) and more advanced backcountry excursions will be offered, with the beginner snowshoes taking place at the Vail Nature Center and Walking Mountains’ campus in Avon. The advanced snowshoes will be led by Certified Interpretive Guides and Wilderness First Responders.



Snowshoes, Poles Provided

The cost is $25 per person for the backcountry snowshoe excursions and $10 per person for the beginner snowshoe experiences, with transportation, snowshoes and poles provided.

On Thursday evenings this March, The Westin Riverfront and Walking Mountains Science Center are also offering Nature at Night walks from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Leaving from the resort, these complimentary outings are open to all ages.
