Truck crashes into the post office in Minturn

A Ford pickup ran into the side of the Minturn Post Office on Thursday afternoon. The driver said his foot slipped off the clutch and the vehicle jumped forward. No injuries were reported.

MINTURN — A pickup truck crashed through the front of the Minturn Post Office when the driver’s foot slipped off the clutch, according to Eagle River Fire Protection District authorities.

The accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The driver, who has not been named, said his black Ford Ranger pickup jumped the curb and damaged the front of the post office.



The driver said his foot slipped off the clutch and the vehicle lurched forward, and jumped the curb.

The two occupants of the pickup were not injured and the airbags did not deploy. No one was injured inside the building. The extent of the damage is still being assessed, according to a statement from the Eagle River Fire Protection District.
