2 Do: Our picks for top activities in the Vail Valley today

1. See the first International Evening of Dance The Vail International Dance Festival continues at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater tonight with a magnificent cast of artists from ballet, modern and contemporary dance sharing the stage. Tonight is the first of two unique International Evenings of Dance, bringing what The New York Times has called “new partnerships and debuts that would please the hearts of fans thousands of miles away.” The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

2. Check out Town Cavalry on top of the mountain — Friday Afternoon Club unwinds at the top of Vail Mountain tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. with live music by Town Cavalry, a band made up of members from The Congress, MTHDS, My Brothers’ Keeper and Frogs Gone Fishin’. The band joined out of their mutual love of music and familiarity with one another’s bands and can be likened to a cross between Gov’t Mule and Sublime. Lift tickets are required to ride the Eagle Bahn Gondola and can be purchased at the Vail Village or Lionshead ticket offices. Those with 2014-15 season passes receive free access.
