2 Do: Our picks for top activities in the Vail Valley today

1. Attend Vail America Days — Celebrate Independence Day with the Vail America Days Parade, which takes floats from Golden Peak to Lionshead while thousands of spectators line the streets. The parade is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and run till noon or so. Live music will follow in Solaris beginning at noon and fireworks over Golden Peak are scheduled for dusk.

2. Check out the Independence Day Celebration at Beaver Creek — The Beav’s Independence Day celebration will feature three-time Grammy Award nominee Pat Green as the headliner for the free outdoor evening concert at 8 p.m. The Stars, Stripes & Slides festivities will be set-up in the heart of Beaver Creek Village during the day offering inflatable slides, jumping castles and other complimentary family-friendly activities, and Beaver Creek’s robust fireworks show will light up the night sky at 9:30 p.m.
