What’s next: Skijoring returns to Minturn Friday, Feb. 26 with the kickoff party at Vail Brewing Co. in Eagle-Vail before competition on Feb. 27-28. For more information, visit http://www.downtownminturn.com/skijoring.

Issue: Speed limit signs throughout town limits.

What they talked about: The council is working with the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office to identify discrepancies in what the Colorado Department of Transportation advises, what the signs actually say and the recommendation of the local police. Speed limits and signage are most critical in the south part of town.

What’s next: Studies continue to be done about speed limits in town.

Issue: Term limits for Town Council and Planning & Zoning Commission members.

What they talked about: The council is in the early stages of discussing term limits. Questions that need to be answered include term length, how the mayor and Planning & Zoning members are elected, who can run and if this is to be changed in the town’s charter, making it more difficult for future council’s to change. “It’s where you get the fresh ideas,” Bellm said of term limits.

What’s next: The council will continue looking into how other towns address term limits and what will be best for the town of Minturn.
