No vote until April on Minturn land exchange

More information: The Town Council will be talking about the town’s goals, as well as voicing its questions and concerns with Crave Community Co. The public is encouraged to attend and participate. The council will not be voting on Wednesday.

MINTURN — The Town Council will not be voting Wednesday on whether or not it will send a letter of support to the U.S. Forest Service for a land exchange with Crave Community Co. However, the conversation will be continued at Wednesday’s Town Council meeting at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

The council will be expressing the town’s goals as well as concerns with the proposed development concept. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to hear the Town Council’s future plans and voice any questions and/or concerns about the project.

Members of Crave Community Co. will also be at the meeting to respond to the public and continue its collection of residents’ input.

Both Crave Community Co. and the Minturn Town Council are continuing to make this a public process, with more meetings and discussions to come.

The vote will come after the new Minturn Town Council is appointed. The election is April 5.

Crave Community Co. is working with the town and its residents on ideas for development, which would require a land swap with the U.S. Forest Service — trading Battle Mountain for Meadow Mountain, which would remain open space for recreation.
