Vail weekly construction meetings begin Tuesday

VAIL — Beginning Tuesday, the town of Vail will host weekly construction meetings to review upcoming project schedules with an emphasis on public and private construction activity in Vail and Lionshead villages. Neighbors, contractors and others affected by the construction are invited to participate. The meetings will be held at 9 a.m. each Tuesday on the ground level of the Welcome Center in Lionshead Village and will continue until Nov. 15.

Among the most significant of the immediate construction impacts in Vail’s commercial core is a deck repair project at the Arrabelle at Vail Square that will impact areas within the Lionshead Mall. The project begins Monday with waterproofing work to repair 17 overhead decks. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times through the mall and traffic control personnel will be provided. Completion is scheduled for mid-June.

Another project that begins Monday is a remodel of the Vail Village Transportation Center terminal. The work includes new floor tile, benches and painting. Completion of the project is scheduled for late May. Portions of the building will remain open during the construction.
