Bravo! Vail soiree tickets on sale

VAIL — Bravo! Vail announced this week that a limited number of reservations for The Linda and Mitch Hart Soirée Series are available to the general public. The series features four private performances in four homes throughout the Vail Valley. Truly an experience, these events are some of the most exclusive and sought-after performances produced by Bravo! Vail. Soirées offer the unique opportunity to enjoy chamber music in the type of intimate setting for which it was originally conceived and performed. The design of each evening allows patrons, artists and guests to gather in private homes for a meal and chamber music. Soirée dates include July 2nd: “Latino Soirée: An Evening with Paquito D’Rivera”; July 9th: “French Soirée: Chausson’s Romantic Masterpiece”; July 23rd: “Broadway Soirée: Music from the Great White Way”; and July 28th: “Strings Soirée: An Evening with the Jasper String Quartet.” Each Soirée includes cocktails, a concert and a gourmet dinner served by area chefs. Chefs include Chef Daniel Joly of Mirabelle at Beaver Creek (July 2), Chef Tracey van Curan of Foods of Vail (July 9), Chef Eric Berg of Vail Catering Concepts (July 23), and Chef Jean-Michel Chelain of The Left Bank (July 28). Each soirée begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour, during which appetizers, wine, cocktails and soft drinks are served. At approximately 6:45 p.m., a specially prepared chamber music program is performed by Bravo! Vail’s chamber and concerto artists. A seated dinner follows the performance. Reservations for The Linda and Mitch Hart Soirée Series are $200 each and may be purchased by calling the box office at 877-812-5700.

All tickets for the 26th Season of Bravo! Vail are on sale, discounts are available through purchase of a subscription package. Orchestral concerts featuring the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra and New York Philharmonic start at $27 for both lawn and “Saver” pavilion seats. Lawn tickets for children between the ages of 2 and 12 are $5. Tickets for the Chamber Music Series start at $29 and Silver Oak and Twomey Series tickets start at $35.

About the Music: The Linda and Mitch Hart Soirée Series

On Tuesday, July 2nd at the Grojean Residence in Beaver Creek, Cuban Jazz legend Paquito D’Rivera shares the stage with his musical partner, pianist Alex Brown, in a rare, intimate Latino Soirée gathering. A French Soirée on July 9th at the Sheehy Residence in Beaver Creek features Chausson’s Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Quartet. World-renowned violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, artistic director Anne-Marie McDermott and members of The Philadelphia Orchestra are the featured performers. For a major change of pace, Bravo! Vail offers its first ever Broadway Soirée at the Washing Residence in Mountain Star on July 23rd, featuring the extraordinary Ted Sperling as pianist and vocalist singing memorable tunes from The Great White Way. The Mayer Residence in Cordillera Valley is host to the final Soirée of the season, an evening with the Jasper String Quartet and guests performing Brahms on July 28th.

French Soirée: Chausson’s Romantic Masterpiece

CHAUSSON: Concerto in D major for Violin, Piano and String Quartet, Op. 21

A dream team of noted musicians come together to perform Chausson’s rarely heard concerto, a rich, warm-sounding, melodic example of late French Romanticism. Chausson called the two main instruments “projections against the quartet background.”

Broadway Soirée: Music from the Great White Way

The Washing Residence, Mountain Star

Ted Sperling, piano and vocalist

Conductor Ted Sperling sits at the piano and sings selections from the American songbook. This will be an intimate gathering never to be forgotten in one of the area’s most lovely homes.

BRAHMS: String Sextet in B-flat major, Op. 18

In 1860 the 27-year-old Johannes Brahms was inspired by his new position as director of the chorus and orchestra at Lippe, his musicians’ dedicated music-making and bucolic surroundings to compose his String Sextet in B-flat major, a work of lyricism and sunny spirit that is one of the first evidences of his mature genius.
