Eagle's fireworks are a go

EAGLE — After a fire officials’ telephone powwow on Monday, the official word came down: Eagle’s July 4 fireworks show is a go.

The show will begin at dark — approximately 9:30 p.m. Eagle fire department crews will launch the show from the Eagle County Fairgrounds, and the fireworks will be visible from locations throughout town.

Last year’s conditions

Last year’s extreme drought conditions prompted the cancelation of the Eagle show, along with fireworks shows throughout the state.

However, after closely monitoring fire danger in the area during the past few weeks, local officials have determined various large scale Fourth of July events can proceed.

They have issued stern warnings, however, reminding residents and visitors private fireworks launches are both illegal and extremely dangerous.

Other events

Along with the fireworks show, Independence Day in Eagle will feature the popular July 4 Bike Parade.

Line up for the Bike Parade begins at 8:15 a.m. at the Brush Creek Park and participants will ride to Eagle Town Park, where refreshments, games and prizes await.
