VAIL — A short burst of fireworks will be tested at 7 p.m. Wednesday by organizers of the Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships, which come to Vail later in the season.
The fireworks will be tested from several areas near Solaris Plaza in Vail Village to determine the best location for a celebration that will be taking place on March 5. Organizers will be testing close-proximity fireworks, the same type that were used during the 2013 Vail America Days celebration on July Fourth.
This week’s fireworks test will last approximately 15 to 20 minutes with the testing of a half dozen aerial shells at two locations.
