EAGLE — Century Link internet customers in Eagle lost service Friday morning when a barn fire in near Bailey burned an aerial fiber optic cable.
According to company spokesman Randy Krause, the outage began mid-morning and affects customers in Eagle and in various other pockets around Colorado. By mid afternoon, company crews were en route to the fire site.
“We are bringing fiber cable to correct things but it’s probably going to be later on this evening before it is resolved,” said Krause in a telephone interview at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Callers to the Eagle Century Link office were informed about the fire and told that Internet service should be restored by 12 p.m. Saturday.
