If you’re looking for a creative outlet to keep your children entertained this summer, Alpine Arts Center’s summer camps include a dynamic lineup of themed art sessions from May through August. Kids’ camps such as “A Pirate’s Paradise,” “My Loveable Pets,” “Yummy Foods” and “Project Runway” give children ages three to six and seven to 12 a chance to explore all art mediums including painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture and crafts, all based on the weekly theme. Campers will also have the opportunity to venture outside for art excursions in our beautiful backyard. For teens, camps are specialized and include offerings such as “Painting & Drawing,” “Teen Clay Camp,” “Digital Photography” and “Mixed Media Bookmaking.” Summer camp early registration is going on now through April 15, with flexible punch cards and discounts for locals on session camps. “Summer is our busiest time of year, and it’s great to see parents recognizing the importance of art for their childrens’ development,” said Lauren Merrill, owner of Alpine Arts Center. Merrill is in the process of finalizing the adult summer class schedule, but the majority of the classes are already posted on www.alpineartscenter.org and open for registration. In addition to the regular oil painting and ceramics classes, Alpine Arts Center will offer plein air painting workshops, wildflower photography, watercolor painting and more. Alpine Arts Center will also continue its “Cocktails Series” classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer.Alpine Arts Center encourages the community to take advantage of the facilities through drop-in activities, private parties and special programs in addition to the class schedule. Drop-ins for art activities such as paint your own pottery, crafts, ceramics and paintings are welcome Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Evening activities are available by appointment. Call Alpine Arts Center to inquire about scheduling a private event. For more information about Alpine Arts Center, visit their website at www.alpineartscenter.org or call 970-926-2732.
