Town of Vail holiday schedule announced

VAIL — Most town of Vail municipal offices will be closed Friday in observance of the Independence Day holiday. However, the Police Records Office in the Municipal Building will remain open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Independence Day. The office is available for front counter service and is open Monday through Saturday each week; closed Sundays.

Regular office hours for all remaining town services will resume Monday. Transit services will operate uninterrupted throughout the holiday. Call 911 for police, fire or medical emergencies.

While the Town of Vail Public Library will be closed Friday, the annual Book Sale, sponsored by the Friends of Vail Public Library, will be taking place in the building’s community room from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day. The sale begins Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will continue through the weekend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is also hosting its annual Bake Sale in front of the building from 8 a.m. to noon on July 4. Regular library hours will resume on Saturday. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Residents are reminded that the July 4 holiday may mean some schedule adjustments for local trash haulers. Contact your service provider to make sure you know which day your curbside trash removal will take place. Town of Vail wildlife protection regulations prohibit trash from being left at the curb other than on the day of collection. Also, Vail’s recycling law is in effect as of July 1. Ask your hauler how to get started.
