EAGLE COUNTY — One company now manages all Cordillera golf courses.

Troon Golf, the world’s largest third-party golf course management company, has managed the Club at Cordillera’s Summit, Valley and Mountain courses, now manages the separately-owned Short Course. That course, near the Lodge at Cordillera, is a nine-hole, par-three course owned by the Cordillera Property Owners Association. The course is open to the public.

Jack Lobiondo is the manager of all the courses at Cordillera. Lobiondo said his company’s goal this season is to bring more of the public to the course. The public parts of the course haven’t been well publicized in the past.

Besides managing the course for the benefit of the property owners, Lobiondo said the course is also a good way to introduce golfers to what Troon offers at Cordillera and beyond.

“It takes 60 or 90 minutes to play all nine holes. It takes four hours or more to play 18 holes. This is a great place for kids and families.”Jack LobiondoCordillera golf courses manager

While there are three 18-hole courses at Cordillera, Lobiondo said the Short Course has a lot to recommend it.

Course designer Dave Pelz is known for building fun, challenging short courses, Lobiondo said. Someone from Pelz Golf will arrive in August to conduct a number of clinics at the course.

The course is also a good value in both money and time. Adults can play for $35 per round. A cart rental is another $13. A second round the same day is also $13.

A round doesn’t have to take all day.

“It takes 60 or 90 minutes to play all nine holes,” Lobiondo said. “It takes four hours or more to play 18 holes. This is a great place for kids and families.”

Beyond the golf, the course also overlooks the valley floor.

“One of the surprises when we took over is the views,” Lobiondo said. “It’s a very pretty place.”
