EAGLE COUNTY — The Eagle River Watershed Council's fifth annual RiverFest event is just around the corner; it takes place Saturday. Tickets are selling fast, so call the Watershed Council now to reserve your spot.
Presented by Oldcastle Materials Southwest Group, the theme of this annual float is "Discover Your Rivers," and the event is a way for river users of all ages to connect to their local waterways as well as other river enthusiasts.
NEW ACCESS POINTS
Eagle County has made much progress in the past few years acquiring and constructing new access points along the Upper Colorado River. The RiverFest float will launch at Red Dirt Creek and take out at the Horse Creek boat ramp at Colorado River Ranch.
Guided by Timberline Tours and Lakota Guides, the four-mile float along this scenic stretch of the Upper Colorado below the Flat Tops will be the perfect opportunity to learn about the health of the Colorado River in Eagle County and explore the mighty river that flows through our backyard.
FESTIVITIES TO FOLLOW
After the float, the evening's festivities will kick off at the Colorado River Ranch with live music from local favorite Hardscrabble. Dinner will include Moe's Original Bar B Que and beer from Bonfire Brewing and Crazy Mountain Brewing. Other activities include dancing, lawn games, a bouncy castle and a silent auction.
The cost of the full afternoon is $75 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. Or bring your own boat and join the Watershed Council for dinner and the evening festivities for $40.
All of the funds raised will support the Eagle River Watershed Council and its river advocacy programs in Eagle County. Tickets are selling fast, so don't miss out on your opportunity to sign up for this great event; call 970-827-5406 to reserve your tickets.
