EAGLE COUNTY — The Gallegos Corporation was founded by Gerald G. Gallegos in 1970 in the Vail Valley. Gerald Gallegos had a passion, a passion for masonry, most specifically stone. The company soon became a local and regional leader in residential and commercial masonry construction services. In the tradition of carrying on the legacy of Gerald Gallegos, the company created an award to celebrate an employee who embodies his spirit and commitment, the G3 Gold Award, named for Gerald G. Gallegos.
The inaugural winner of the G3 Gold Award is Joe Kleber, in recognition of and appreciation for his exceptional job performance and distinguished contributions to the Gallegos Corporation.
Kleber has been with the company since April of 1993. He has time and again displayed a level of dedication to the organization that has created success on many levels. Kleber has effectively led projects, teams, built relationships and earned his crew’s respect and the respect of Gallegos employees and clients.
The construction industry is currently facing a shortage of qualified tradesmen. Kleber was part of a group of individuals who identified this issue and helped with the creation of an apprenticeship program for the company.
In August of 2013, Kleber was certified as a National Center for Construction Education and Research Master Trainer. He has worked to certify trainers and build the core program and has successfully assisted Gallegos in launching a program that now includes four trades — concrete, masonry, plaster and marble installations.
