Avon’s Icing in the Park is Dec. 15

AVON, Colorado – Kick off the holiday season at the town of Avon’s Icing in the Park event in Harry A. Nottingham Park on Dec. 15 from 2-5 p.m. Families can participate in winter-time activities such as riding snowmobiles in the park, taking a pedal cab to the giant tubing hill, having their names carved in the ice wall and visiting the reindeer petting zoo. Santa and his Elves will be making a special appearance between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.

In addition, the town of Avon is partnering with the Salvation Army to host an “Angel Tree” at the Avon Recreation Center. Visit the Avon Recreation Center from now until Dec. 15 to pick your angel from the tree and adopt-a-child for the holidays. Bring your adopted child’s gift to the Icing in the Park event on Dec. 15 and get the wrapped for free. Parents, your kids can enter the coloring contest and win prizes. Visit Facebook/Avonrecreation for a downloadable ad or watch the Vail Daily for a black and white ad. Have your child color the ad and bring their artwork to the event.-

The entire event is free. No dogs or alcohol allowed. Nottingham Lake will not be open this winter for ice skating.-
