Black Friday fun for kids at Vail Vitality Center

VAIL – Black Friday. To some, it’s a day for shopping. For others it means a full day of work. In either case, busy parents searching for kid-friendly activities for the Friday after Thanksgiving have a new option. Vail Vitality Center at Vail Mountain Lodge introduces its “Active Youth Program,” debuting on Black Friday, designed to keep kids engaged in fun, age-appropriate activities led by athletic club professionals and other health experts. This fast-moving, energetic program features sports and activities tailored to kids who love constant motion. Vail Vitality Center’s Black Friday Active Youth Program takes place on Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for ages 6 to 12.

Vail Vitality Center’s Black Friday Active Youth Program features sports, including basketball, soccer and volleyball, and activities, including kickball, capture the flag, mush ball and more. The program also includes lunch and a special jersey. Cost for the Black Friday Active Youth Program is $65 per person and parents are asked to send two or three healthy snacks and plenty of drinking water with their kids.

“We saw a real opportunity for a day program that caters to active, school-aged kids during the Thanksgiving holiday break,” said Jeff Morgan, Vail Vitality Center director. “We have some incredible professionals on our staff and they are excited to extend programming to a younger segment of our community. We’re eager to embrace active youth programming and look forward to offering more opportunities for local kids.”

Vail Vitality Center’s introductory Black Friday Active Youth Program takes place at Homestake Peak Elementary School, located in Eagle-Vail, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children ages 6 to 12 are welcome to attend the program. For information and registration visit http://www.vailactiveyouth.com.
