VAIL, Colorado – Vail Mountain invites skiers and snowboarders to conquer its seven legendary Back Bowls in one day, this Sunday as the final event of the Winter Teva Mountain Games.
Patterned after the Talons Challenge at Beaver Creek, the Seven Wonders of Vail is meant to highlight Vail’s Back Bowls – Sun Down, Sun Up, Tea Cup, China, Siberia, Inner Mongolia and Outer Mongolia – spanning more than 3,000 acres across seven miles.
Taking the challenge a step further, Seven Wonders of Vail participants can use their hard card lift ticket or pass equipped with RF technology and Vail Resorts’ EpicMix application to “check-in” at each of the seven bowls at a designated EpicMix entry station. The entry stations will be located at the base of the High Noon Express Lift (No. 5), the Sun Up Lift (No. 17), the Orient Express Lift (No. 21), the Tea Cup Express Lift (No. 36) and the Mongolia Lift (No. 22).
With seven scans, the participant will receive a Seven Wonders of Vail digital pin via EpicMix. There is no prescribed route or sequence to conquering all seven bowls.
Registrants will receive a gift bag and an invitation to an after party at Mountain Plaza in Vail Village from 2-4 p.m. including food, drinks, giveaways, a $1,000 cash prize and more. For registration and additional details, visit www.vail.com/events/sevenwonders. Space is limited and lift access is not included in the registration fee: $25 online; $35 on site.
