EAGLE COUNTY — Police are looking for a 34-year-old man wanted in a high speed pursuit who has multiple arrest warrants from several different counties throughout the state.

On Sunday at 1 a.m., local law enforcement was notified that Colorado State Patrol tried to stop a vehicle in Summit County when the vehicle fled in excess of 100 mph and entered Eagle County.

At 1:07 a.m., dispatch received a call from a male saying he was a taxi driver with a fare from Denver to Grand Junction and was being held at gunpoint, forcing him to not pull over and drive erratic.

When police found the abandoned vehicle at the Grizzly Creek rest area, items on the seats of the vehicle indicated there could not have been a second occupant of the vehicle, which eliminated the possibility of a gunman forcing the driver.

Police found that the driver of the vehicle was Matthew R. Lohner, of Parker. He is wanted in Eagle County on charges of vehicular eluding, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and false reporting to authorities.
