Vail Police Department arrests graffiti suspects

VAIL —Two men have been arrested and charged with criminal mischief for their suspected role in a string of graffiti tags that occurred Oct. 15 in Vail. The incident was reported at approximately 10:45 p.m. when the Vail Public Safety Communications Center was notified by a town of Vail bus driver of the discovery of graffiti in several locations.

As officers from the Vail Police Department were dispatched to investigate, the suspects were located in close proximity to fresh graffiti matching a trail of earlier tags. Investigators also recovered spray paint cans in the suspects’ possession and observed paint on their hands.

The suspects are identified as Christopher Kearney, 38, of Vail and Evan O’Connell, 37, of Silverthorne. The two are accused of tagging concrete walls and underpass pillars as well as temporary construction signs in at least five locations from Vail Village to East Vail.
