VAIL, Colorado – University of Colorado President Bruce D. Benson will visit Aspen, Vail and other Colorado mountain communities this month as part of his annual outreach tour.
Benson will meet with community leaders, donors, alumni and other higher education supporters in Aspen and Vail to talk about how CU is working to contribute to Colorado’s long-term economic well-being. He will also share his vision for the university, thank CU donors for years of support, and urge state lawmakers not to forget the value of a college education.
“Higher education and academic research together enrich lives, build the state’s knowledge-based workforce, and fortify the state’s economy through innovation, business startups and job creation,” Benson said. “Now, more than ever, higher education will be an imperative for the state.
“Coloradans must be armed with the skills and knowledge demanded by our global economy – a message I often share with the state’s thought leaders.”
Benson also will talk about CU’s continuing education programs for the state’s teachers, lawyers, doctors and nurses. To learn more about his outreach visits, go to https://www.cu.edu/content/community-outreach-tour
