Eagle County: Tell us your love story, win a great prize
Ryan Summerlin February 1, 2012
We don’t care if it’s cheesy, quirky, unlikely or downright sappy, we want to hear it. Please, tell us your love story.
How did you meet your other half? What makes it work? When did you know they were “the one”?
Once again the Vail Daily and TV8 are teaming up for the second annual Tell Us Your Love Story contest. In around 200 words, we want you to spill it: About when you met, or how you proposed, or when you knew you wanted to spend the rest of your life with your significant other. Maybe you felt a jolt of electricity, or maybe you wanted to punch him in the face, either way, it’s likely something you’ll never forget, and it probably makes for a darn good story.
“Last year we had such a great time hearing everyone’s stories,” said Tricia Swenson of TV8. “If you’re in love, and with someone, it might remind you of those feeling again, and if you’re not in love yet, these stories may inspire you and give you a feeling of what it’s like.
“So many people don’t really think of Valentine’s Day as a real holiday, but why not celebrate those you love?” Swenson continued.
And indeed, we got dozens of submissions last year. The stories ranged from a couple who met at a charity Santa Pub Crawl, to a pair that first laid eyes on each other at a multi-day adventure race on the other side of the country.
“It was love – head-over-heels, forget-to-shower, thrash-to-his-music, kisses-and-hugs LOVE,” read one entry.
So now it’s your turn. Spill it. Tell us all the little details. We can’t wait to read your love story.
