What: Eagle’s popular free concert series featuring The Original Shakedown Street
When: Thursday, Aug. 1
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Where: Eagle Town Park
Details: The Original Shakedown Street is one of the longest running Grateful Dead tribute bands in the world. Free children’s activities accompany the concert and the series is presented by the town of Eagle, Moe’s Barbecue and the Vail Valley Foundation.

What: Free class for students of all abilities

Time: 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Details: Sunday morning yoga will be held through the summer months. Donations will be accepted for Eagle County Fresh Approach program.
Summer Reading Movie Matinee
What: Free movie showings for elementary-age kids
When: Wednesday, Aug. 14 — Flushed Away

Where: Gypsum Public Library Crawling to a Cure
What: Off-Road 4×4 vehicle race to benefit the Keepin’ em Real scholarship fund
When: Saturday, Aug. 3
Time: Gates open at 4 p.m. Races begin at 5 p.m.
Where: Eagle County Fairgrounds
Details: Entry fee is $100 per driver and cash prizes will be paid to the top three finishers in five categories. Spectator tickets are $10 with kids age 6 and younger admitted free. Mountain Dogs Canine Carnival
What: A slate of dog-friendly events anchored with a Dock Dogs competition
When: Saturday, Aug. 10
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Eagle County Fairgrounds.
Details: Activities include pulling, agility, sheep herding, rally, fly ball and newcomers scent works and ball herding called treibball. Additionally, a Doggie Mudder, Doggy Dash and The Dirty Dog Kids Mud Run are planned. For more information, visit http://mountaindogs.org.

What: Float and dinner hosted by the Eagle River Watershed Council
When: Saturday, Aug. 17
Time: Float group will meet at Colorado River Ranch at 2:30 p.m. and launch at 3:30 p.m. at Red Dirt Creek. Dinner party will begin at 6 p.m. at Colorado River Ranch.

Eagle Valley Community Fund Rummage Sale
What: Massive rummage sale benefitting local non-profit groups is celebrating its 49th anniversary.

Details: Admission to the sale is $1. The sale is laid out around the school and features thousands of donated items. Money generated from the sale is awarded to more than 70 local groups. Summer Reading Ice Cream Party
What: Culminating activity for the Gypsum Public Library’s summer reading program
