Retail weed in Eagle
After four years, four elections and many, many hours of public hearings, retail marijuana sales in Eagle were slated to start Saturday, April 19. However, issues with paperwork delayed opening of the Sweet Leaf Pioneer retail operation in Eagle until Saturday, April 26.
On Vail mountain, thousands celebrated closing day for 2013-14 season. Costumes abounded, with neon spandex, one-piece suits and lots of exposed skin omnipresent on the slopes throughout the day.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department suspects arson in a vehicle fire that occurred just outside of West Glenwood.

A bill that won unanimous approval in a Senate committee this week would allow year-round hemp cultivation in greenhouses and strike a 10-acre limit on hemp for research and development.
