Edwards Rotary hosts successful fund-raiser

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – The Rotary Club of Edwards held its 3rd Annual “So You Think You Can Bowl” event Oct. 25 at Bol in Vail Village. This event is the club’s largest fund-raiser of the year and has been dubbed by some as “the most fun non-profit fundraiser in the valley.”
This year’s event grossed nearly $15,000. The Rotary Club of Edwards, dedicated to service above self, donates time and monies to local communities and to Rotary International Projects including clean water, literacy, and the elimination of polio. Locally, the clu, through volunteering and monetary donations, supports youth scholarships for graduating seniors, an international youth exchange program, dictionaries for all Valley third graders, the Youth Foundation soccer program, Foresight Ski Guides, and many other programs.
This year’s event was won by “The Gate Crashers” team, led by past-president Matt Kozusko. The team donated its $1,000 prize back to the Rotary Club. The Rotary Rock Stars were a close second, and Linda Hill’s Aevium Team won best costume. Jeff Koch’s Colorado Mountain Living Team was the top fund raisers at $2,600, which offset their less than stellar bowling capabilities.
Club members offer special thanks to Alpine Bank, Slifer Smith and Frampton, Woody’s Bar and Grill, and Rotary President Marci Colby for making this fund-raiser such a great event.
