Horse drawn sleigh ride dinners return to Cordillera

EDWARDS – The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera, located in the Vail Valley, has teamed up with Bearcat Stables to offer horse-drawn sleigh ride dinners this winter. A longtime Cordillera tradition is being resurrected in a new location but with the same purpose, great food and a unique experience in an unforgettable setting. Bearcat Stables will be hosting the sleigh dinners from its ranch located up Squaw Creek Road on the valley floor between the Divide and Mountain neighborhoods at Cordillera. Executive Chef Ashton Fichtl and his team from the Lodge & Spa at Cordillera will provide a three-course dinner after the sleigh ride, which includes whole roasted free-range chicken, braised Colorado beef chuck roas and mixed-berry cobbler. Sleigh rides last about 30 minutes, and guests can enjoy a cocktail around the fire pit before heading into dinner at the fully restored, historic Bearcat Cabin. Bearcat Stables has a 20-person sleigh that is pulled by two Belgian horses, or a smaller, four-person private vintage sleigh can be requested for an additional cost. “We are very excited to be bringing back this unique experience to Cordillera,” said Cordillera Lodge General Manager Aaron Coburn. “Bearcat Stables is a perfect location to take in the expansive Colorado night skies, paired with a bit of luxury in the three-course meal in such an inviting setting.” He hopes both visitors and local residents will come and enjoy this special experience.Bearcat Stables at Cordillera is located 15 minutes west of Beaver Creek in Squaw Creek Valley.
