EDWARDS – Venetian Nights will take place at the Edwards Interfaith Chapel and Community Center on Saturday. The facility will be transformed into a Venetian palace with arias performed by performers from the award-winning Santa Barbara opera and dinner will be prepared by David Walford of Splendido. There will be silent auction items and several opportunities to show support for the facility.
Venetian Nights will take place Saturday from 5 to 10 pm. Tickets are $180 per person and there are discounted tickets for students and youth for $75. Tickets are available at blacktie-colorado.com/rsvp and enter event code: venetian2012 (all one word, not case sensitive) or by phone at 970-476-0618. Attire is mountain elegant and the event takes place at the chapel/community center, located on highway 6 in Edwards, just east of St Claire of Assisi church.
Proceeds will provide accessibility for community to use the Edwards facility.
“The facility has become an important hub of activity since it was completed last year – and we want to make sure everyone has access,” said Deacon Steve Baird, president of the board of directors that oversees the facility. “On a given day, we could have several worship services, a community supper, kids’ programs and more, it is remarkable to see how many people love this space.”
Venetian Nights was the creation of Susan Washing, director of development for the facility and chairperson for the event. “I wanted to bring a different type of event not seen in the Vail Valley to the community center and transform the space so that people could see how versatile and lovely the space is.”
The Edwards Interfaith Chapel and Community Center hosts numerous events throughout the week including a weekly community supper on Thursday evenings from 6 to 7 pm. The facility is available for rent for events, weddings, meetings and other activities. For information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 970-926-3388.
The congregations that currently hold services in the facility include: B’nai Vail Jewish Congregation, Covenant Presbyterian Church, Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Mount of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Christ Church Anglican Eagle Valley, Iglesia Apostolicia de la fe en Cristo Jesus and Rios de Agua Viva.
