Learn to compost in small spaces

Back by popular demand, the “Science Behind” series at Walking Mountains continues on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. with “Science Behind Worm Composting.” Come and discover the wonders of compost. Learn about the decomposition process, the benefits of keeping food waste out of the dump and various composting methods. We will focus on the ease of worm composting for people who live in small places. Build and take home your own worm compost tub complete with a starter population of red wiggler worms!
The “Science Behind” series of classes highlights useful and fun skills that have underlying scientific principles. Each class provides a hands-on, interactive component with instruction from a local subject-matter expert and a Walking Mountains educator. Classes are held once a month at Walking Mountains Science Center in Avon.
