EAGLE, Colorado – Police issued a summons to a man for dumping trash in a private Dumpster Jan. 2.
A liquor store owner observed a man park next to his dumpster and throw in three bags of trash. He wrote down the license plate but did not approach the man. Instead he reported the plate number to the sheriff and asked to press charges.
The man later admitted to dumping the trash but said he couldn’t find any signs to indicate it was illegal. The officer asked the store owner if the man could return and pick up the waste he’d dropped. The owner said that was not a possibility, as the trash had already been picked up. He wanted police to give the man a ticket.
The man was issued a summons.
