“THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER”
A funny and touching adventure based on a best-selling novel that has sold over a million copies in the U.S. and has been published in 16 countries and 13 languages, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a modern classic about a shy, sensitive teenager caught between trying to live his life and escape it. “Sinister” is a frightening new thriller from the producer of the Paranormal Activity films and the writer-director of “The Exorcism of Emily Rose.” Ethan Hawke plays a true crime novelist who discovers a box of disturbing home movies, which plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror. Sinister will terrify audiences and have them jumping out of their seats. (1:45) R.
Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in “Skyfall,” the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. (2:30) PG-13.
In this action-packed mystery thriller, Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. Director Rich Moore (TV’s “The Simpsons,” “Futurama”) take moviegoers on a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping journey in “Wreck-It Ralph.” Ralph is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix, the “good guy” star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he’s tired of playing the role of a bad guy. (1:55) PG.
