New Sarah Graham jewelry line on display in Vail
Ryan Summerlin February 14, 2013
The Squash Blossom presents the innovative and unique jewelry of California designer Sarah Graham. Graham’s combination of handmade, inspired design and exquisite materials results in a collection of jewelry that is both bold and daring without sacrificing the elegance and sophistication that assure an ageless quality. The jewelry is distinctive, calm, serene and graceful.
Graham’s jewelry pushes the boundaries of convention through her use of 18-karat gold and blackened steel and highlights of black, white and cognac diamonds. The jewelry carries strong tones of thoughtfulness, attention to detail, quality and timelessness. Her signature combination of black, white and gold colors immediately identifies the artist.
For her 2013 collection, Graham once again drew inspiration from nature, and more specifically, the ocean. The “Sea Urchin” collection features the mouth part of the marine invertebrate, which has tooth like plates that point inward and are referred to as Aristotle’s lantern.
“Once again, Sarah’s newest collections speaks of the beauty of nature,” said Amy Logan, store manager. “This time finding inspiration from the sea, her Sea Urchin collection has a feminine sensibility. Slow and methodical, the Sea Urchin shows us how to maneuver with tenacity and patience. With a tough exterior and soft inside, the Sea Urchin is a bold representation of the modern woman – strong and accomplished, with natural grace and beauty.”
Crafted in 18K gold, the plates of Graham’s Sea Urchins point to sparkling diamonds set against a dramatic backdrop of oxidized cobalt chrome, her signature metal.
