Colorado Properties joins Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices

VAIL — Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, the new real estate brokerage network operated by HSF Affiliates LLC, announced on Monday that Colorado Properties is the network’s first resort-brokerage signee. Colorado Properties will begin operating as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties in October.

Michael Slevin, the brokerage’s owner, said he chose Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices for its brand reputation, leadership and financial strength.

“The Berkshire Hathaway name is known worldwide for integrity, trust and success, and we’re proud to attach that name to our own,” Slevin said. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime brand opportunity we just couldn’t pass up.”

Slevin said the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand will resonate well with clients in all market segments, starting with affluent, second-home buyers who gravitate to the Vail Valley from metropolitan areas. The brand also will appeal to real estate professionals, added Slevin.

“We are excited to introduce Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices into our community,” Slevin said. “Combining our company and market with a brand inspired by Berkshire Hathaway, the world’s most respected company according to Barron’s, gives us endless possibilities.”

Stephen Phillips, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices president, welcomed Slevin and his company to the brand.

“We are honored to add Colorado Properties to our network ranks,” Phillips said. “Michael is a highly respected broker in the Vail Valley and throughout the region. Colorado Properties is one of the industry’s top companies and is a generous corporate citizen with strong support for local and national charities.”

Slevin and his leadership team will meet with their sales professionals in Vail, Beaver Creek, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum in the coming weeks to discuss the upcoming transition.

“We’re excited about our announcement and want to discuss it personally with our team members,” he said. “Our company’s future has never been brighter, and we want to celebrate it with every one of our sales professionals, support teams and business partners.”

Colorado Properties, a full-service brokerage founded in 1971, operates six offices with 85 sales professionals and one of the area’s largest vacation rental companies. The company ranks among Prudential Real Estate’s Top 50 companies nationwide and is a top firm in the Vail Valley.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, based in Irvine, Calif., is a brand-new real estate brokerage network. The network is among the few organizations entrusted to use the world-renowned Berkshire Hathaway name.

Irvine, Calif.-based HSF Affiliates LLC operates Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Prudential Real Estate and Real Living Real Estate franchise networks. The company is a joint venture of which HomeServices of America, Inc., the nation’s second-largest, full-service residential brokerage firm, is a majority owner. HomeServices of America is an affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
