Vail official report: 1″ new snow

Vail Daily field report: There’s untracked places with more than a foot yet to be found

Weather: Variable, getting cloudier as the day moves on. Very windy at times, especially along the ridges.

Liftline status: Crowded, especially at Mid Vail and Chair 2, presumably due to blue sky’s closing. No line at Chair 5.Run of the day: Forever was groomed, which is very rare. Take advantage of the opportunity to ski it if you can.

Breakdown: It’s busy on the final Saturday, and the fresh snow from the last few days that has yet to be tracked is getting skied. But there’s still plenty to find. The groomers are running nicely, as well, but Blue Sky was closed due to difficult conditions back there so the mazes on the front side groomer chairs (2 and 4 especially) are quickly filling up.

Snowcast: The clouds overhead look angry, it seems more is indeed on the way as forecasters predicted.
