On the Hill: Thursday’s Vail ski conditions report with video
Special to the Daily
Vail, CO Colorado
Vail official report: 1 inch new snow, 18-inch mid mountain base, 33 inches total to date.
Vail Daily field report: 1 inch heavy snow at top,-with more falling.
Liftline status: Slight morning rush at Eagle Bahn, Chair 8 empty.
Weather: It’s snowing!
Breakdown: The morning crowd at Vail is-more waterlogged-than usual this morning, and all the happier for it-as it looks like Drycember and No-snow-vember-may finally be behind us. The-snow is very wet, heavy-and-generally slowing things down,-which Mountain Safety is sure to appreciate today, especially if the continued snowfall brings more crowds. Plus it feels a lot better under your feet, making you want to turn more-and scrub off-your speed. Still no new terrain open, and for good reason, but things are looking-much whiter on the hill, which is encouraging. Bring something waterproof for your face or it will be wet within one run’s time.
