On the Hill: Today’s Vail ski report with video
Ryan Summerlin November 21, 2012
Vail official report: 0 inches new snow, 18 inches base at mid mountain.
Line at Chair 8: Much less than a normal morning, presumably due to Beaver Creek’s opening today.
Weather: Another warm day, although there’s a few more clouds in the sky than yesterday. No wind, as is the usual at Vail.
Breakdown: It’s another fast groomer day today. With Vail’s normal morning crew hunting Epic Mix pins at Beaver Creek, you just might be able to enjoy a few slow runs without those maniacs flying past you. Of course, not everybody chose the Beav’ over Vail. Denise Hovakec and her daughter Amelia, from Colorado Springs, went up with the first wave at Vail, opting for the closer of the two resorts. It’s Chair 8 liftie Tom Browne’s birthday today, wish him a good one if you see him.
Snowcast: Finally something in the forecast — a chance of snow for Monday.
7-day Snow Total: 1 inch.
Percent of Terrain Open: 2
Lifts Open: 5
Trails Open: 6
