On the Hill video ski report: Chilly morning on Vail Mountain
December 24, 2012
Brought to you by and the .Vail official report: 0″ new snow.Weather: Cold again, but not as bad as yesterday. Plenty of sun and no wind.Liftline status: Eagle Bahn Gondola starting to fill up, no wait at Chair 8.Run of the day: The grooming report says Safari was groomed, but we found otherwise.Breakdown: The conditions today are very similar to yesterday, although both temperatures and crowd numbers should be slightly higher. With the final lift now running at Vail (Mongoliapoma #22), the resort has more than 5,000 acres of in-bounds, skiable terrain open, so those crowds should space themselves out nicely. Skiers who ventured out to outer Mongolia yesterday via the poma reported that the snow was soft and powdery out there in spots, and tricky in others. Be careful if you’re heading out that way.Snowcast: Some snow is possible for Monday, but it looks like Thursday, Jan. 10, is more promising for the start of a new storm cycle.
