With how cold it is, the gondolas are going to be the more popular option today.Run of the day: Lodgepole upper and lowerBreakdown: We weren’t expecting snow yesterday, with most forecasts saying it would be sunny, but wereceivedan inch anyway which blended nicely with the existing surface to give the groomers a slight boost in the oft-scraped areas. It was one of the coldest — if not the very coldest — mornings of the 2012-13 season today, so that surface was bulletproof, but the skies are clear and theabundantsunshine should soften things up this afternoon. The cold temps didn’t keep away Keith Hurley and his daughter Nicole, 16, of Golden. They came out to ski Vail and check out the history panels Keith put up in the Lionshead Welcome Center in honor of Vail’s 50th anniversary.Snowcast: Joel Gratz of saysit will be dry for about a week, predicting snow for next weekend.
