On the Hill: Wednesday’s Vail ski report with video
Ryan Summerlin November 28, 2012
Vail official report: 0 inches new snow, six lifts and four runs open
Lifelines: Eagle Bahn and Chair 8 both empty during the 9 a.m. hour
Weather: It’s definitely cloudier than yesterday, which could mean colder temps, but so far it feels the same as yesterday and Monday. Dress warm in the morning but use removable layers if you plan on skiing into the afternoon.
Breakdown: While everybody’s waiting for more snow, we should probably just be thankful we’re able to ride the snow at all, given the low accumulation numbers for November. With Vail being known around the world for its impeccable grooming, you’re in one of the best possible places to ski manmade snow, so you may as well enjoy it. The secret to a good day at Vail is to get on as much of that fresh groom as possible, and the secret to that is getting out early. Wildlife lovers, keep your eyes peeled out there; we saw deer running through the woods on the morning gondola ride up this morning.
Snowcast: Sadly, ten times nothing is still nothing.
