On the Hill video report: GoPro Mountain Games get going

On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute.

Today's activity: Watching slopestyle freeriders at the GoPro Mountain Games.

Conditions: The GoPro Mountain Games slopestyle competition is one of the most high-flying events of Vail's 4-day summer action sports spectacular, with a tough course that challenges freeriders though a variety of difficult features. Even Thursday's practice rounds were exciting as riders felt out the jumps in anticipation of the big show, scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday.

Today's weather: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. — National Weather Service
