Norris/Lamont Exhibition at Vail Library, March 1-15. A trip to San Miguel de Allende, a 16th century Mexican colonial town, the birthplace of Mexican independence from Spain, excited a whole different imagery for Joan Norris's paintings and Jim Lamont's photographs.  A highlight of the trip was images from the Dia de lost Muertos a festival corresponding with a mix of our American Halloween and Memorial Day. Women in skeleton costumes know as Katrinas parade the main plaza, devil masks are displayed to ward off evil, families visit and decorated the graves of their departed  in the local cemetery,  homage is expressed with bouquets of marigolds and roses. A showing of "Images from San Miguel de Allende" will be at the Vail Public Library, March 1-15 with a artist reception on Sunday, March 10 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
