BEAVER CREEK – On Saturday, the best of Pink Floyd – including “The Wall” and all the excitement of a live concert – will take over the Vilar Center as Paramount’s Original LaserSpectacular, featuring the music of Pink Floyd, takes the stage.
Now in its 25th year of successful touring, Paramount’s LaserSpectacular has become a cult classic, presenting the music of Pink Floyd as you have never seen it before. Surrounded by 50,000 watts of concert quality sound, Pink Floyd’s musical legacy continues as the band’s concept music captures the imagination and carries listeners away on a mind-expanding journey driven by cutting-edge effects. Colorful lasers and lighting effects parallel the sonic journey.
“Pink Floyd’s music is very dramatic and visual,” said Paramount’s LaserSpectacular Producer Steve Monistere. “You can see or imagine images when you listen to their music. Without any lighting effects at all, there is still a show in your mind. Now imagine using lasers, lighting, video and other special visual effects to interpret what your mind is ‘seeing’ and that is why into the show, so expect new features people love this show so much.”
This year’s show celebrates the 40th Anniversary of “Dark Side of the Moon.” The show also features the classic synchronization of “Dark Side” with “The Wizard of Oz,” better known as “Dark Side of the Rainbow.”
“What’s so great about Pink Floyd’s music is that it speaks to so many different types of people, across several generations,” said Kris Sabel, executive director for the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “When you take music that impactful, and pair it with this incredibly well-produced visual experience, it creates an effect that cannot be described with words – you simply must witness it for yourself.”
Tickets are $33 and are available at www.vilarpac.org or by calling the Vilar Center box office at 970-845-TIXS.
