VAIL — The town of Vail’s Art in Public Places is planning its seventh year of presenting temporary exhibitions featuring the seasonal materials of ice, snow and light for guests and residents to enjoy this winter season.

The Triumph Winterfest has garnered national media attention and recognition in the public art realm. AIPP is seeking proposals from artists and artist teams for this exhibition to be presented at the AIPP Board meeting Sept. 9 at 8:30 a.m. in the town of Vail Council Chambers.

Triumph Winterfest is a family-friendly, free outdoor visual art exhibition located along the Gore Creek Promenade in Vail Village east of the International Bridge. With the creek and park as a backdrop, the buildings along this walk also provide decent blockage of direct sun exposure. By incorporating ice, snow and illumination in a conceptual design that may be realized into an exhibition, the winning exhibition will be visionary, engaging, captivating and interactive. This event draws people of all ages to delight in this winter visual arts exhibition.

This exhibition is made possible by generous funding from Triumph Partners and Vicki and Kent Logan. Triumph Winterfest has become Vail’s preeminent wintertime visual arts event.

For more information or if you would like to present your proposal before the Art in Public Places Board, contact Molly Eppard, Art in Public Places coordinator, at 970-479-2344 or meppard@vailgov.com.
