‘Soup’s On’ at CMC in Edwards
Ryan Summerlin October 17, 2012
Warm up this fall with a Soup’s On! cooking class in Edwards. Colorado Mountain College in Edwards, is hosting a Soup’s On! cooking class Friday. The three-hour life long learning class starts at 6 p.m. and is held at Battle Mountain High School’s learning kitchen. The kitchen is impressive with its conventional size and professional equipment. At Soup’s On! students will don an apron and enjoy a hand’s on experience while cooking roasted tomato soup, cream of mushroom, beef and veggie stew and chocolate acorn chili. The next step will include recreating the recipes to make another meal such as tomato braised stuffed cabbage, chicken casserole with mushrooms and beef stroganoff.
“This is a great time to check out one of the lifelong learning classes,” said chef and instructor Tracy Miller. “The soup classes are always fun and delicious and I love introducing healthy ingredients that will make a hearty meal for anytime of the day. Plus, the side dishes for soup are mouth watering.”
Miller brings a colorful perspective to cooking by adding fruits and vegetables to all her meals. She teaches at CMC, contributes to the Vail Daily and shares recipe techniques on TV8 Monday mornings. To learn more visit colorfulcooking.com.
