Huskies girls lax gets first win against Summit
April 11, 2013
FARMER’S KORNER – It was really, really cold. It snowed in the second half.
In other words, it was just another day at the office for Battle Mountain girls lacrosse. As as is becoming a nice habit, the Huskies won again, downing Summit County, 15-9, in Farmer’s Korner.
“No big deal,” Huskies coach Emily Jaissle said. “Just a snow storm here or there.”
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is Battle Mountain’s first win over the Tigers in the history of the girls lacrosse program, yet another nice item to check off the list.
Senior captain Maddi Conlin had six goals and two assists. Clare Backer had a double hat trick as well. Hannah Gershenoff, Tyra Kuller and Hayley Clarke also found the net. Siena Miller was magnificent in net with a bunch of saves.
And so after three games in four day, the Huskies have some well-deserved time off with spring break.
“They’re getting a few days off to get some good rest,” Jaissle said. “Then we’ll get together and get the ball rolling again.”
The Huskies return to action April 23 with a big game at Aspen.
