Stories conflict in Wolcott bicycle dispute

WOLCOTT, Colorado – A driver and bicyclist who failed to share the road exchanged punches.
Two bicyclists were riding east on Highway 6 in Wolcott on July 21 when a pickup truck passed them. The cyclists claim the truck driver whizzed by, missing them by a few inches. The bicyclist decided to confront the truck driver and knocked on the car window.
The driver claims he rolled down his window and the bicyclist punched him in the face two times. Only then did the driver get out and punch the bicyclist, he claimed.
But the cyclist’s side of the story is a little different. He claims the driver jumped out of his car, knocking the bicyclist to the ground with the car door. The driver then started punching the bicyclist while he was still on the ground. Both parties declined to press charges.
