BEAVER CREEK – In celebration of the Toots and the Maytals Unplugged Acoustic Tour with Anders Osborne at the Vilar Center in Beaver Creek on Sunday, a “Toots and the Boot” pre-party will take place at The Dusty Boot in Beaver Creek before the show.
Kicking off at 5 p.m. Sunday, fans can come to the The Dusty Boot in Beaver Creek for $2 Red Stripes, along with specialty rum drinks, jerk chicken, plantains and red beans and rice to get ready for legendary ska and reggae group Toots and the Maytals. Just before the performance, “Toots” Hibbert will be on hand to meet fans. In addition, fans who come to the boot to purchase their tickets to the show will receive a special discounted price of $100 for two tickets (regular price is $58 per ticket).
Lead singer and native Jamaican Hibbert and his band helped chart the course of Jamaican music through its various evolutions of ska, reggae and rock. Venturing far beyond those roots, Toots and the Maytals have collaborated with some of rock, pop, hip-hop and country’s biggest artists, including classic icons Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton and Keith Richards, as well as popular artists of today, such as No Doubt, Ben Harper, The Roots and Shaggy. Collaborating with Colorado favorite Anders Osborne, the band’s reggae rock will be coupled with a powerful trio of riveting songwriting, soulful vocals and stellar guitar playing.
“We look forward to bringing the celebration up to The Dusty Boot before the band takes the stage that evening,” said Kris Sabel, executive director for the Vilar Center. “It should be a great night and an outstanding concert.”
