Vail Family Holidaze wraps up on Monday night with New Years activities for the whole family. Enjoy a favorite Vail tradition with the torchlight parade on Golden Peak starting at 6:15 p.m. The torchlight parade will be immediately followed by a fireworks display that will light up the night sky over Vail Mountain. After the fireworks, families are invited to the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola to Adventure Ridge for the Family New Years celebration. The gondola ride and select activities at Adventure Ridge are complimentary and packages will be available to purchase that will include discounted dinner and activities to keep the fun going throughout the evening. All children at the Family New Year’s celebration must be accompanied by an adult.
You’ve got talent, yes you do; you’ve got talent, how about … well, you! You know the cheer, now get over to Beaver Creek this week and show it. Bring it on: Sing your heart out, we want to hear it! Singers 18 and younger are eligible to prove they’ve got the best pipes in Beaver Creek on Thursday, Jan. 30. Picture yourself in the spotlight, competing for $100 (or $75 for 2nd, 50 smackaroos for 3rd) and, of course, a trophy and bragging rights all over town. Hit Beaver Creek Resort’s Winterfest, after your time on the mountain; you can perform on-stage for three minutes during “Beaver Creek’s Got Talent” with back-up from your pre-recorded track. Judges from local TV and radio stations will be present, and video of your performance can be on Facebook, if the parents approve. Get the skinny – the official rules – at www.beavercreek.com/winterfest
