Girls on the run
June 6, 2014
Girls on the Run of Western Colorado is excited to announce the returning service areas of Eagle County Charter Academy, June Creek, Gypsum Elementary, Red Hill and Homestead Peak schools for the fall program season, which will run from August to November. The Girls on the Run program uses an experience-based curriculum which integrates running to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. The interactive curriculum is fun and challenging, covering meaningful topics such as self-awareness, building healthy relationships and developing personal strengths while engaging in physical activities. If you are interested in bringing the program to your home school, please contact Allison Hansen, county coordinator, at 970-376-0942 or firstname.lastname@example.org or like the Eagle County Girls on the Run Facebook page to receive weekly updates. We cannot run the program without volunteer coaches. We need at least two coaches per site, per 15 girls. Fall program site registration will be open through Aug. 1. Details and registration forms can be found online at http://www.gotrwesterncolorado.org. The program fee is $50 per participant and includes 20 lessons delivered by trained coaches, a GOTR T-shirt, entry for the end-of-season 5K, and end-of-season awards and celebrations. No girl is turned away due to financial restrictions, and scholarships are readily available. To learn more about the program, or how to volunteer to coach, please email the county coordinator at email@example.com. You do not have to be a runner to get involved!
